Saturday saw the expected announcement of 40K 8th Edition…
The player-base kept thier cool, well, some of it did…
Today saw a live Q&A from GW that details a bit more about what will be changing in 8th!
Faeit 212/Natfka has done a handy write up of what was discussed and it can be found here: http://natfka.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/ongoing-updates-for-live-40k-qna.html?m=1
What do people think? From this reporters view it looks like 40K will be incorporating lots of things that AoS introduced, some will see this as good, others bad…
Some examples include – Tanks/MC will get worse as they get ‘wounded’, also everything can now hurt everything.
Overall it’s too early to make a judgement about what 8th will be like, I’m sure we’ll hear more in the coming days and weeks…
Roll on mid June as that’s the rumoured rlease date, also save those rulebook and codex receipts as if they’re less than 8 weeks old you can get a voucher replacement!
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ll have probably spotted the two images of the new Age of Sigmar game that broke today.
People are still not totally sure if this will be a replacement for WFB, the fabled 9th edition or if it’s a stand alone game. All we are sure is that it looks quite different and the models have round bases!
To me it has the look and feel of a small scale skirmish game such as (the much missed, in my opinion) Confrontaton from Rackham or Privatee Press’ Warmachine/Hoardes.
The initial responses ahve been polarising to say the least, some in the community love it, others are convined the sky is falling and this is the end. A number of people are looking at buying it just for the conversion potential!
For me, I’m going to wait to see what else is revealed over the coming days/weeks, although I can see myself potentially dipping my toe in the water, especially as there will be easy crossover with 40K thanks to the bases!
What do people think? Do you like the new direction that is being taken? Will you be giving it a try?
Let us know!
