Every so often we get the urge to have a game of something we’ve not played in a while, tonight’s game of choice was the World of Warcraft board game complete with Burning Crusade Expansion. Thanks to us having access to Burning Crusade it meant there was access to higher levels as well as more equipment and abilities, the only downside is that it makes a long game even longer.
Gaz, Alex and Jon formed the Alliance and Matt, Alexander and Wayne formed the Horde. Both teams opted to stick together for the early encounters; this resulted in many monsters being stomped.
As the game progressed both sides stayed fairly even with neither the Horde nor Alliance being able to pull away, as the end drew near (and the hours long) Matt tried a risky gambit, soloing an Epic Ravager with a Shadow Priest… Due to a combination of less than stellar dice and a misunderstanding of how healing works it didn’t end well… (killing the critter was no issue, the problem was not getting killed before the final damage step!)
This lead to a second failed attempt and a bit of target obsession, the third attempt was a success as the Wayne and Alexander joined in the fight to soak the damage and levelling them all to L6. The only problem was while this was taking place the Alliance heores made their way into the final dungeon to face Kael’thas.
The fight between Kael’thas and the Alliance was what’s known as one sided. The Allicnace were throwing all the dice (literally), the result Kael’thas was battered all over the shop and very much defeated!
In the nights other game it saw ‘Nids vs Darak Eldar vs Necrons in a 2,000pt each 40K 3 way game, the result was a bit of a bloodbath with the Necron forces gaining the win (helped in no small part by The Deceiver and The Nighbringer!)
Looking forward to the next meeting in two weeks, but before that we’re got Salute to look forward to on the 25th.
